Burton Industries have been coolroom builders and sandwich panel suppliers in Melbourne for almost fifty years. In that time, we have constructed countless custom coolrooms for restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, wineries, butchers, factories, farms and private residences throughout Victoria, Tasmania and southern New South Wales.
We manufacture our coolroom panels, using BlueScope’s COLORBOND® Intramax® steel, at our Kilsyth-based factory. This gives us the flexibility to meet our customers’ requirements easily, and on time.
We can supply your coolroom panels direct from our factory, deliver them to your site, or supply and install your coolroom panels, anywhere in metropolitan or regional Victoria, as well as throughout Tasmania and southern New South Wales.
We also manufacture coolroom kits, with all coolroom panels, trims, coolroom doors, fixings and sealants included.
Our coolroom construction experts will be able to recommend to you either a hinged or sliding coolroom door based on your coolroom use, traffic and size. Because we manufacture our own products, we can build your custom coolroom door to any size, style or specification. Replacement doors and parts are also available.
Manufacturing Process
The manufacturing process involves adhering COLORBOND® Intramax® steel coils, to the insulation core of your choice, through a continuous panel laminating machine. This process enables us to make coolroom panels to the length that you require meaning no unusable panel or offcuts.
Our coolroom panels incorporate a male edge and a female edge that lock together making installation easier for you, or your coolroom builder.
In addition to manufacturing our coolroom panels, we also manufacture and install coolroom doors of all types and sizes. In fact, bespoke, or made-to-order, coolroom doors are our speciality.
Our teams of skilled coolroom builders have decades of experience in building freezer rooms, Coolrooms, low temperature holding rooms and blast freezers in any size. Every project is treated with equal importance, and our teams of coolroom builders pride themselves on installing a quality coolroom efficiently and expediently. No project is too big or too small.
Compliance to the Building Code of Australia is overseen and reinforced by our experienced, professional site supervisors.
We install made-to-order Coolrooms on site. As a member of the Insulated Panel Council of Australia, our Coolrooms have been perfected over fifty years for long-term, high-traffic use. We have designed a quality product that is made to last. Because we use pre-painted COLORBOND® Intramax® steel, the Coolroom colour will last for longer too.

Environmental Standards

The EPS core of our sandwich panels contains no fluorocarbon. EPS insulation is one of the most environmentally-friendly insulations available. It can return up to 200 times the energy used to produce it and can reduce emissions by up to 100 times that produced in its manufacture.
